Report Center dashboards: Smarter filters, better collaboration
We've upgraded Report Center dashboards to make shared reporting more consistent and collaborative. Dashboard viewers now see the same filtered view the creator intended, can save and reuse their own filter combinations, and can always reset back to the original setup with a single click. Key enhancements are as follows:
Filter persistence (creator to recipient)
- Filters applied by the dashboard creator now carry over and display for every recipient, so everyone views the data through the same lens the creator set up — no more mismatched or reset filters when a dashboard is shared.
- Works with both template-based and non-template dashboards.
- Available in both Public: Editable and Public: View Only share modes.
Filter collections - public and private
- Users can save a set of up to 5 filters (including date) as a named Filter Collection, making it easy to reapply frequently used filter combinations instead of rebuilding them each time.
- Collections can be toggled Public (visible and usable by all dashboard recipients) or Private (visible only to the creator), giving users control over what they share versus keep for personal use.
- Only the original creator can edit or delete a collection, protecting shared collections from unintended changes.
- Recipients can apply a public collection and then tweak filters further for their own analysis without altering the shared original — so personal exploration never disrupts the source dashboard.
- Private collections persist across sessions and work in both Public: Editable and Public: View Only dashboards.
Edit Filters menu - New Filters and Collections sections
- A new Filters section lets users configure up to 5 filters and either apply them directly to their dashboard or save them as a new collection, complete with a name, description, and Private/Public toggle.
- A Discard Changes option instantly reverts any unsaved edits.
- A new Collections section lets users search existing collections and see key details – name, description, creator, creation date, filter count, and Public/Private status – before applying one to their dashboard.
Reset to original option
- A new Reset option restores a dashboard to the creator's original filters, or reverts a selected collection to its original configuration, discarding any personal adjustments made during the session — a quick way to undo exploration and get back to the baseline view.
