IPv4 restriction feature for enhanced API security
We are excited to announce the upcoming release of IP restrictions for OAuth 2.0 Applications. This feature provides a highly requested layer of security for your external server integrations, bringing the trusted whitelisting capabilities you expect into our modern authentication framework.
Administrators can now define specific IP whitelists for applications created within Conversational Cloud's Management Console (select Manage > Management Console on the left navigation bar). Once configured, our authentication service will restrict access to only those defined entries. If a request is made from an unauthorized IP address, the connection will be blocked even if valid credentials are provided.
Key features
- External access: This functionality is intended for external servers used by customers for automations leveraging modern credentials.
- Granular control: Define IP policies on an app-by-app basis to secure your automations.
- Enhanced authentication: Uses Client IDs and client secrets to obtain secure bearer tokens.
- Integrated management: Accessible directly within the "App Install Administration" section of the Management Console.
- IP version support: This feature currently supports IP version 4 (IPv4) addresses and ranges.
Setup
No special setup is required. If your account is configured for OAuth 2.0, the IPv4 restriction toggle will automatically appear in the App Install Administration module. Learn more in this article in our Community Center.
Mobile Agent App v4.1.0 - Enhancements and fixes
Enhancements
- Android 15 ready: Full compatibility and optimized performance for the Android 15.
- Enhanced image sharing: Images are now automatically processed before sending, ensuring higher quality and faster uploads.
- New Share button: You can now easily share files and images directly from the file preview screen.
- Polished UI in both light and dark themes: Improved readability, keyboard behavior, and form layouts, so agents can work more comfortably.
- Enhanced agent management and customer identification: Enhanced agent presence, conversation takeover, and authenticated customer naming, making it easier for teams to manage active chats and identify customers.
Fixes
- Improved file sharing reliability: Improved reliability when sending files, large images, and captions from the mobile Agent App, so agents can confidently share content with customers.
- Improved platform stability: We have significantly improved the stability of the Conversation Cloud Agent App on both iOS and Android platforms by resolving various underlying session and login issues.
- Preventing unexpected logouts: Agents will no longer be unexpectedly logged out while actively working. The system now automatically detects agent activity and refreshes the session timeout timer. This ensures that logouts only occur after a genuine period of inactivity, resolving previous issues where the system enforced a fixed timeout duration even when the agent was engaged in a task.
