The Difference between Ask Question vs. Discussion

The primary distinction is that "Questions" are meant to be answered and then closed, contributing to the Community's collective knowledge. In contrast, "Discussions" are more open-ended; they invite conversation about features or best practices without requiring a resolution. They serve as a platform for users to share use-case examples or best practices.

With "Questions,"

  1. The original poster or moderator can designate a comment as an "Accepted Answer," which is then marked as the Best Answer and pinned at the top for easy access.
  2. All other answers will remain and are listed below the Best Answer, so we don't lose those insights & perspectives.
  3. If a "Question" receives no comments, it will show up under the Unanswered page in the right menu on the home page, encouraging users to engage with it.

HINT: Before asking your question, please check the Discussion/Question threads to see if it has already been answered, as this may be the quickest way to find a solution. The site's collaborative nature and shared knowledge are its greatest strengths.

Here is how you access the "Ask a Question" feature.

  • Click on the Discussions/Questions link on the top navigation bar.

  • Click the blue "New Post" button on the right side of the page, then select "Ask a Question" from the drop-down menu.

  • Please be concise and specific, ensuring that both the Question title and open text field are complete. Remember, this is a public forum, so avoid including any personal information you wish to keep private.

  • Click on the blue "Ask Question" to submit your question.

ADVISORY: The Community site is focused on shared knowledge and collaborative insights. It is monitored during normal business hours. You should continue to use your established channels to contact technical support if this is an emergency.
