This document explains how to implement IP restrictions for agent access in LivePerson's Conversational Cloud. This feature allows you to control which IP addresses agents can use to log in, enhancing the security of your brand's account.
Benefits of IP Restriction:
- Increased Security: Limits access to authorized locations, reducing the risk of unauthorized login attempts.
- Improved Compliance: Can be used to meet specific industry regulations or internal security policies.
Understanding IP Restrictions:
IP restrictions allow you to define a range of IP addresses from which agents are permitted to access the Conversational Cloud. Any login attempt originating outside this range will be denied.
Important Note:
If you utilize a Virtual Private Network (VPN) and tunnel LivePerson domains through it, additional configuration is necessary for IP restrictions to function correctly. You'll need to include the following sub-domains (specific to your account region) within your VPN tunnel:
- US: auth-z1.liveperson.net
- EU: auth-z2.liveperson.net
- APAC: auth-z3.liveperson.net
Advanced Login and IP Restrictions:
The functionality of Advanced Login, which includes IP verification and restriction, is crucial to consider. Whitelisting your VPN IPs without tunneling the mentioned domains will result in public IPs being sent during login, causing login rejections.
Log into Conversation Cloud with administrator privileges, the home page appears.
Click Manage > Management Console. The Management Console page appears.
You can also use the search function to access the Account Access Control setting.
Click Admin & Secure. The Admin & Secure page appears.
Click Account Access Control >Access Restrictions tab.
Provide the following information:
- Enable: Click to enable/disable the IP address restriction feature.
- IPV4 Range: Provide into the start and up to fields, IP address ranges that can access the account. You can also provide a description for the range in the description field.
- Delete: Click to delete the IP address range.
- + Add range: Click to add another set of IP address range.
Click Save. The IP restrictions are configured and saved.
Additional Considerations:
- Carefully review the allowed IP address range to ensure it covers all authorized access points for your agents.
- Consider the impact of IP restrictions on mobile or remote agents who might not always have static IP addresses.
By implementing IP restrictions, you can strengthen the security of your Conversational Cloud environment and ensure only authorized agents have access.
