Introducing LivePerson's Multi-factor Authentication (MFA), a powerful tool for enhancing security within the Conversational Cloud platform. By adding an extra layer of verification beyond traditional username and password, it ensures robust protection for agents and administrators alike.
This feature, managed by Admins, requires a unique code from a personal device, granting peace of mind and mitigating risks associated with login vulnerabilities.
Enable MFA
Log into Conversation Cloud, the home page appears.
Click Manage > Management Console. The Management Console page appears.
You can also use the search function to access the Account Access Control setting.
Click Admin & Secure. The Admin & Secure page appears.
Click Account Access Control. The Account Access Control page appears.
Upon activation MFA logins will be enabled for all users.
Reset MFA
MFA adds an extra layer of security to your login process by requiring a code from your smartphone in addition to your username and password. If you've lost your phone or are otherwise unable to use your current MFA configuration, you'll need the account admin to reset it for you.
Log into Conversation Cloud, the home page appears.
Click Manage > Users & Skills. The Users & Skills page appears.
Click the User that needs their MFA reset. The Edit user page appears.
Click Reset MFA. The Reset MFA confirmation modal appears.
Click Delete.
Upon confirmation, the authentication token is revoked. MFA reconfiguration will be prompted on the next successful login attempt.
By resetting MFA, you will be able to regain access to your LivePerson Conversational Cloud account using your username, password, and a new MFA code from your smartphone authenticator app.
MFA Configuration Flow
The first time you log in to Conversational Cloud from LivePerson's login page after providing your correct login credentials, you'll be presented with a multi-factor authentication flow.
Here's a step-by-step guide on how to use Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for the first time:
Step 1: Configuring Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
On first time log in a QR code is displayed on the screen. Scan this QR code using an authenticator app on your smartphone for first-time configuration.
Once you complete this onboarding process, you won't see this page again.
Step 2: Retrieving the Code
After scanning the QR code using your authenticator app, the app will display a six-digit code.
Step 3: Submitting the Code
Conversational Cloud will provide you with an input field where you can submit the six-digit code you received from the authenticator app.
Submit the code to proceed with logging in successffully.
TOTP Mobile Authenticator App
A time-based one-time password (TOTP) application automatically generates an authentication code that changes after a certain period of time. We recommend using cloud-based TOTP apps such as:
