Easily connect with Instagram using our intuitive onboarding process, tailored for brands of all sizes. Amplify your impact and creativity, resonating authentically with your audience in the expansive world of Instagram.
Requirements:
- You must have an Instagram account that is connected to a Facebook Business page.
- The Instagram account must be a business account.
- The Instagram account must allow "Access to Messages". This setting can be found in the Instagram app under "Settings" -> "Privacy" -> "Messages"
- Your Instagram account must have at least 1000 followers or the name of the handle must start with "test_"
Follow the steps below to add an Instagram account to the Conversation Cloud:
1. Adding Instagram to the Conversation Cloud
Log into your Conversation Cloud account and click Channel Setup under the Manage tab in the hamburger menu.
The Channel Setup page appears.
Scroll down to find the Instagram option and click Get Started. The Instagram integration page appears.
On the Instagram integration page click Proceed to configure. The Terms of Use window appears.
Accept the terms and click Confirm. The Instagram Configuration page appears.
Click Connect account. The Facebook login page appears.
2. Log into the Instagram (Facebook) account
Input the required information:
- Email address or phone number: Provide the email address or phone number used for login to the Instagram account.
- Password: Provide the password used for login to the Instagram account.
Click Log in. The Continue as page appears.
Click Continue as. The selection page appears.
Select the page that you want to connect to Conversation Cloud and click Next. The permissions page appears.
ℹ️ To provide access to all pages current and future click Opt in to all current and future pages.
Select the options as required and click Save. The confirmation page appears.
Click Got it. The select window appears.
Select the relevant Facebook page and click Done.
The Instagram page is now connected to the Conversation Cloud.
3. Send and receive messages from Instagram
You can now test the setup by sending a direct message to the Instagram account that is connected to Conversational Cloud. When the message shows up in the Agent Workspace, you can respond as an agent and see the response in the Instagram App.
4.[Optional] Configure Ice Breakers
Ice breakers provide a way for the consumers to start a conversation with the brand with a list of frequently asked questions.
You can configure ice breakers during the onboarding flow by clicking on the edit link in the ice breakers column. Ice breakers are only available for consumers sending a message to the brand for the first time.
